The Anti-Wrinkle Workout
“Just as a body builder can develop particular muscles in his or her body, a particular facial feature can be developed and accentuated by performing a specific facial exercise.”
Facial exercises have been proven to strengthen and develop facial muscles to achieve a more toned and youthful looking face.
For centuries, Ayurveda, an ancient Indian science, has been using massage and facial exercises, touting it as a key to delay the aging process and help prevent wrinkles.
David Colbert, M.D. of NY Dermatology Group says facial exercises do work. “As with any other muscles, if you don’t work them, they can atrophy,” he says. (Town & Country, Sept. 2007)

As a physician certified in both Preventive and Anti-Aging Medicine, I strongly believe in the benefits of Facercise to slow down the aging process. In my mind, there is no doubt that a comprehensive rejuvenation approach for the face should incorporate Facercise. Every exercise that is described in the book has been thoroughly studied, and every technique is designed to reach the most beneficial changes. I am practicing the exercises myself everyday while driving in my car or watching TV; I am grateful that Carole Maggio has taken me on this fascinating and rejuvenating journey. Facercise is not just an exercise program for the facial muscles; it is an essential part of a comprehensive approach to health and beauty. ~ Dominique Fradin-Read.
Over a year ago, I experienced a bout with Bell’s Palsy. After seeking medical attention, I decided to give Carole Maggio a call. In the beginning, my wife and I went to see Carole at least four or five times, and then I would do the exercises every morning and evening. I have to say that the results were truly amazing. They were amazing to me because I had virtually no muscle control; none, zero on the right side of my face. It felt as if my face was completely frozen on the right side. I almost felt like I’d been given an overdose of a Botox injection on the right side of my face. It was weird because I could “feel” the right side of my face, but had absolutely no control over the muscles. But, then something miraculous happened. By day three, I started to feel a twitching sensation above my right nostril. This was definitely a sign of hope for me. After doing the exercises one evening, my wife noticed an immediate improvement. She said she could see lines appear on my forehead. While this may not seem positive to some, it is for a Bell’s palsy patient whose face was previously frozen. By day four, I was able to close my right eye. I would say by the one week mark, I was about 75% improved. It was truly amazing to me. I was able to squint again and raise my eyebrow up. After three weeks time, I had 90% full facial functionality back. I could speak better, had more energy, and didn’t get quite as exhausted by the end of the day. By the six week mark, I was 95% of the way back to normal. By Christmas day, I was able to smile and both sides of my mouth went up. This was a wonderful improvement for me and my wife and kids to see. ~ Dr. Vincent Marcel
I discovered Facercise on the internet as an option for facial rejuvenation without surgery. After practicing the techniques for 6 months myself with tremendous results, I realized that I could incorporate this program into my Dental Facelift cosmetic procedures to obtain faster and better results for my patients. The Dental Facelift restores worn and missing teeth to a shape that provides the maximum support, erases years of premature aging from the lower third of the face, and provides proportion and dimension to the face. The size of the face increases slightly when restoring the teeth to support the facial skin, providing an alternative to surgical facelift techniques. The Facercise techniques enable my patients to adjust quicker, help with TMJ problems , provide excellent muscle tone to the face and the increased circulation improves the color and quality of the facial skin. I now recommend that all of my patients begin the Facercise program before I start any cosmetic dentistry. The youthful results and the happiness of my patients continue to amaze me. ~ Dr. Barry Nestlerode
